MAD ABOUT PHOTO MEMORY QUILTS
Want a unique way to display photos? Let us design an original keepsake quilt out of them for you! Photo Memory quilts make great gifts and are a wonderful way to commemorate an event such as an anniversary, graduation or wedding. So pull out those photo boxes and look through those old photo albums, or search your picture files on your computer. You supply the photos and we will transform them into a unique quilt to be treasured for years to come.
We offer 2 styles:
1) Quilt Block Style -This is a new twist on a traditional type of quilt; your photos are sewn into traditional style quilt blocks giving you the look of a pieced traditional quilt, but with the uniqueness of your personal photos. All photos are the same size in this type of quilt.
2) MAD Collage Style – This quilt incorporates photos in many different sizes up to 8x10. Smaller size photos (4x6 or 3x5 for example) work best to make an effective collage; we can cut and crop areas of these photos or use the entire image as needed. If you desire, one or two larger photos (5x7 or 8X10) can be used along with the smaller photos and will act as focal points for the quilt. We use fabric sashing strips of varying widths to separate the photos. This allows us more flexibility to fit in all the photos in the overall layout. Our sashing fabric is 100% high quality cotton. We offer a number of color schemes for you to choose from which we have found work best with the collage style quilt. A coordinating border is then added to complete the quilt top.
Preparation: All photos are copied (if actual photos are used) or printed (if digital photos are used) on paper-backed fabric. Each photo may be cropped as needed to fit in to the layout of the quilt. Printed photos or digital disks sent to us will be returned with the finished quilt.
Condition of photos: Photos will be used in the condition they are sent, so choose non-blurry photos without red-eye when possible. Old black and white or even yellowed photos can still be used, and will yield a more antique look to the quilt. They can be mixed with color photos as well with no problem. Photos transferred to fabric may appear less crisp than when printed on photo paper and this is due to the weave of the fabric. Be assured that this will not affect the overall look of the quilt when completed.
Batting and Backing: The batting is a high quality layer of a cotton/polyester blend fluff sandwiched between the photo quilt top and the backing. Our backing fabric is a 100% cotton neutral beige patterned fabric which will complement any décor.
Quilting and Finishing: Each quilt is professionally machine quilted in an overall pattern in the sashing and borders to provide a more stable and durable finished product. A double thick binding is then applied to the outside edge to finish your quilt.
Shipping: We will ship via USPS Priority Mail and charge a flat rate of $20.00 which covers shipping and insurance.
Please allow 4-6 weeks from receipt of your photos for us to complete your quilt.
Sending us the photos: Mail us your printed photos or disk containing your digital photos along with the order form below and your deposit. Upon receipt, we will send you an email to confirm receipt of your package.
